A Hens Do (or a Hens Night) doesn’t have to involve running from pub to pub with shameful adult paraphernalia attached around you and your bridesmaids necks. This modern tradition of a weekend full of debauchery was nothing more than an attempt to try to match the bachelor’s evolution from what was originally a dinner date with close family and friends.
The good news is that more hen’s nights are getting less trashy and a lot more classy. This is due to more couples actually caring about each other’s well-being and also the original essence of this celebratory tradition was to be able to have a good time with your best friends without alienating anyone in particular. Some friends may already be married and just like in Hangover Part 2, Doug, played by actor, Justin Bartha wasn’t included in the tom foolery of Thailand, because it just wouldn’t make any sense to participate after you have committed yourself.

For those of you who wish to stay classy, I commend your efforts and we here at Cinemotive understand that planning the bachelorette party is whole other big event that requires its own attention, which is why this responsibility is usually handed over to the maid of honour. You should read our post about using Pinterest to plan weddings as it most certainly can be used for a bachelorette party.
In our experiences in dealing with hungover brides include (first tip: try to have the hens do a week or so before the wedding), here are some classier options that don’t involve strippers and (too) much alcohol:
- - A dazzling getaway at a day spa or boutique hotel for you and your girls to get pampered. For the a truly amazing experience, opt for a cottage in a remote location so you get the feeling of travel at the same time.
- - For a real sophisticated hens do, look into the hype of High Tea. If you’re not sure what this is, imagine three tier cake stands and cute sandwiches and canapes. This has become a bit of a trend lately and you’ll find that most good bars and restaurants are offering this service.
- - Who doesn’t love a Mojito made just the way they like it? Cocktail classes are starting to make an appearance in the wedding events industry and it would definitely put some class into a much needed hens do while still involving a fair amount of alcohol if getting loose is still a priority.
- - Spiritual sessions are loads of fun. They involve tarot cards, palm readings and just a whole bunch of exciting rituals to promote good fortune and prosperity.
