We’ve recently had the privilege of working with a cover band called Sincopa. I use the term “working with” as I do when we arrive on location and meet other professionals from different fields; contracted to help make the day perfect.
I’d like to look at it as an extended team and often liaise with the band, photographers, coordinators and anyone else involved, to ensure that we’re all on the same page. And as you know, when you’re comfortable with the people you work with, the results are outstanding, which is why we have preferred contacts when couples ask us if we know any good bands, photographers or wedding planners. Not only do we believe in their product, we all work well together!
So here’s a few points I’d like to share with you all on what I think makes the perfect cover band, and I’d have to thank Sincopa for giving me the inspiration.
Confidence.
In regards to all the elements that come together to create the perfect ambience for a wedding, I’ve always been intrigued with the entertainment of choice. While you you may see the Cinemotive crew covertly side-stepping and back-flipping to achieve the perfect angles, the cover band are the centrepiece of the venue, and receive a great deal of attention. When choosing entertainment for your wedding, you definitely want confident and charismatic entertainers to deliver the mood throughout the whole night. And I must say, the front men and women of Sincopa stand tall and project their voices with clarity and confidence, which is essential for mid to large-sized weddings.
they can play virtually any song you wish. From jazz greats like Frank Sinatra to current Top 40 and dance hits like Mr. Saxo Beat
Versatility.
DJ’s are great. They are flexible, often fun characters and are equipped with an arsenal of classic wedding songs like we mentioned in our previous post about effective wedding music. Even Sincopa incorporates a DJ in their band. One of the first things that impressed me about Sincopa, is that they can play virtually any song you wish. From jazz greats like Frank Sinatra to current Top 40 and dance hits like Mr. Saxo Beat (as featured in the video below). And like they say, there’s no experience that comes close to music that’s performed live.
Experience.
When Australia’s most talented musicians and singers aren’t on tour supporting big international artists, they are performing at your wedding and large corporate events. Such is the life of the guys and girls of Sincopa. Eli Malka, the managing director and drummer, has brought his experience performing all over the world for the likes of Russian Oligarchs in Turkey, Swiss Banks in Geneva and at weddings alongside the Gypsy Kings. The rest of the band members also have their own amazing stories and pathways (which you can check out on their site).
Its great to see more couples choose live cover bands for their party and all you have to do is just check out the short video we made, to see just how amazing the vibe is on stage, as opposed to a one-man-band-man, which we still think is a great solution for many reasons. Visit the Sincopa website if you’re on the hunt for Sydney’s best cover band for your wedding! We’d also like to know if anyone out there is experienced with booking bands and what else should you look for, let us know!
