Protecting Your Wedding Memories
At Cinemotive, we understand that your wedding day is one of the most cherished events of your life, and the memories captured are priceless. To ensure these moments are preserved for years to come, it’s important to take a few steps to protect your video and photo files as soon as you receive them.
How to Safeguard Your Wedding Memories
To keep your memories safe, follow these simple steps:
1. Copy the Files Immediately
As soon as you receive your video/photos, transfer all files to your computer. Check the contents to ensure everything copied over correctly.
2. Create Multiple Backups
Save a copy of your files to an external hard drive and consider uploading them to a cloud storage service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Cloud storage offers additional protection in case of hardware failure.
3. Regularly Check and Refresh Your Backups
It’s a good idea to periodically check that your files are still accessible. Every year or so, update your backups to new storage media to prevent potential data loss.
What If Your USB No Longer Works?
Heads up: we no longer include USB sticks in our packages—your wedding photos and videos are now delivered via a secure download link (or on an external hard-drive if that’s in your package). If, three months or more after you receive your final edits, you discover you haven’t backed everything up and your USB (from an earlier package) has failed, don’t panic—we may still be able to help. We keep backups of all weddings for a limited time, but please double-check with CineMotive that your files are still on our servers before placing an archive retrieval order.
If you do need us to pull your files out of the archives after that three-month window, there’s a $250 retrieval fee. To make sure you never miss a memory, we always recommend downloading your files (and making your own backup!) as soon as they arrive.

Online Download
Your video files will be uploaded to a secure platform, and we’ll send you a link to download them directly. This is the fastest and most convenient option. Please check with Cinemotive to ensure we have the files before you place an order.
