Gemma & Jamieson
Your day, in your words
Three years engaged, and the date is set: Friday 27 August 2027 at Doltone House Sylvania, in the brand-new room with its staircase. The church is the last piece — St Francis fell through with its renovations, and you’re choosing between St Brigid’s in Marrickville and a couple of others closer to home.
You came to us for film: natural and unposed, the day caught as it actually happens, from a team that works things out with you rather than handing you a form. Photography is still open — you’re weighing up a few photographers — so you asked to see it alongside. You’ll find both below.
A morning with room to breathe
Your best friend’s 12 o’clock start was chaos — not enough time to get ready. Yours won’t be. Two hours at your parents’ place: the girls in robes before the dress, then the reveal with family, without anyone watching the clock.
Jamie, keeping it low-key
Jamie at home with the four boys, about an hour, nothing fussy. Only three minutes around the corner from you — but in the same window, which is why each of you has your own team.
The moments around the moment
At a friend’s wedding, you watched the only photographer aim one way while the couple shared something the other way. You noticed — and you’re right to. Two teams means someone is always on the two of you, and someone is on the people around you.
A highlight to share
Five or six minutes — plenty, as you said, in an Instagram world. The film you send to family and friends, shaped around your music and the editing style you choose.
The long film, minus the lazy moments
You want more of everything — the morning, every speech, the dancing — just not every minute of a full mass. That’s what the Episode film is for: the ceremony down to eight or ten minutes, the fast-forward bits gone. Your documentary still keeps the whole ceremony for later, and every angle is on your hard drive.
Worked out together
You asked whether we collaborate — on locations, timings, the edit. That’s the whole approach: a planning session for the day, a creative session for the films, and sharing examples of what you love, from us or anyone else.
Flow of the day
Here’s the day as it stands today. We refine every timing together at your planning session — church, travel and light included — so nothing gets rushed.
Gemma’s preparations
Robes and the girls first, then the dress and the reveal with family.
Jamie’s preparations
Low-key, with the boys.
Ceremony
Including the congratulations out the front, and a group photo with everyone on the steps before guests drift away.
Photoshoot
Water, gardens or city — we’ll find the spot that suits you, planned around the late-August light.
Reception
The start time, and the light
You were clear you don’t want a rushed morning — and the ceremony time is where that gets decided. A Friday start can have to work around a parish school, and the drive from Padstow Heights to Marrickville is around half an hour. If it’s St Brigid’s, 1:30 would give your morning the buffer you’re after. We’ll settle it together once the church is locked in.
The same thinking goes for family photos. The light goes early in late August, so rather than doing immediate family at the church, they can meet us back at Doltone House around 5:00 for photos in the room or outside, before guests arrive. Small calls like these are what keep the day from feeling hurried.
Final timings and locations are refined together as we get closer to the day.
Why two full teams
You and Jamie are getting ready three minutes apart — but at the same time. One team could bounce between you, but only by having Jamie dressed three hours early, which you ruled out yourself. So a second team in the morning isn’t an upgrade here; it’s what it takes for neither morning to be missed. On film alone, that’s John and a second cinematographer; add photography and each becomes a full team, with a photographer beside each cinematographer. Either way, both are there for the church. What changes between collections is how far the second team runs into the night.
With you all day
From the morning through to the end of the reception — ~11:30 PM on The Essentials, ~12:00 AM on Your Story and The Full Collection — with locked-off cameras running through the night alongside the handheld work — so the room is covered from every angle without anyone crowding the floor.
How far into the night
Where a day gets squeezed is rarely the ceremony — that sets its own pace. It’s the morning, and the half hour straight after the church: the congratulations, the group photo, getting everyone to the cars before the light goes. That’s where we act as your timekeepers. We don’t make the day longer — we make sure you’re present in the time you have.
And a straight answer on the night: a second angle earns its place at the entrances and the formalities. Once the dancing starts, the locked-off cameras already have the room — which is why no collection keeps a second team on the dance floor.
Your films & photographs
Four ways to relive the day, from a quick share to the full record — and, if you add photography, every photograph alongside them. Tap through a real example of each; yours will be shaped around your own moments and music.
Teaser Film
A 45–60 second teaser, delivered within two weeks in both vertical and horizontal formats — the first taste while the day is still fresh, and easy to share. Included in every collection.
Highlight Film
A five-to-six minute cinematic edit (six to eight on The Full Collection) — the film you share with family and friends. Slow and cinematic, story-led with parts of your vows and speeches woven through, or something more up-tempo: the style is settled together at your creative session.
Episode-Length Film
The long story with the lazy moments taken out — 30–40 minutes in the order the day unfolded, or a Love Story of up to 20 minutes woven around your own words. A fifty-minute mass becomes eight to ten watchable minutes.
Documentary Film
The deepest record of the day — the mornings, the ceremony, every speech, the formalities and the dancing kept at real length. The archive you park for a few years, then return to.

Add-ons
A few things you can fold in — nothing here needs deciding now, and the album can even be added after the wedding.
Episode-Length Film
The middle ground between your highlight and the full documentary. Choose an Episode Doco — 30–40 minutes, in the order the day unfolded — or an Episode Love Story of up to 20 minutes, woven around your own words. Either way: the mornings, the ceremony in eight to ten minutes, the photoshoot, the entrances, speeches, cake, first dance and the dance floor.
It sits beside your documentary rather than replacing it — the one you put on for a viewing night with friends.
Highlight Film
A five-to-six minute cinematic edit, shaped around your music and the moments that matter most.
Radiant Leather Album
Handmade in New Zealand — 14 × 10 inches, 40 printed sides, with matted overlays that frame each photograph on the page. Can be added any time, even after the wedding.
Framed canvas print
A 20 × 30 inch framed canvas from your pre-wedding session, displayed at your reception entrance as guests arrive.
Add-ons can be selected straight from your quote, and the total updates as you go.
You experience your wedding three times
Before
In the planning — locking in the church and a start time that gives your morning room, the run sheet we build together, and the creative session where we settle the music and the feel. Nothing rushed, nothing guessed.
The Day
As it happens — two teams quietly keeping time, from both homes in Padstow Heights through the church and the photoshoot to the dance floor at Doltone House, so you’re present for it rather than managing it.
For Life
In the years after — the highlight you share now, and the long film you come back to. You remember your parents putting on their wedding video when you were a kid. One day, someone will do the same with yours.
Some moments reveal their value only with time.
